England - North York Moors to Scarborough

The view down the escarpment from the terrace gives us a good look at our next point of interest, Rievaulx Abbey ruins. It was founded in 1132, making it the first Cistercian abbey to be established England's north. Over 600 lived and worked here at its peak.
